Bio

Mike brings 30 years of experience as a marketing leader, business strategist, and consultant and a deep background in information services and IT, digital research and learning, data and analytics, and workflow and decision support. As Founder and Principal for Growth Canvas Consulting LLC, Mike helps organizations to find new avenues for growth by understanding the customer, market, and competitive landscape and developing and deploying the right go-to-market strategies.

Mike is passionate about helping his clients to position their solutions to stand out from the crowd and enabling them to build mutually beneficial customer relationships that will stand the test of time. He excels at evaluating new markets and partnerships, launching new solutions, building new capabilities, and using quantitative and qualitative research to spot emerging shifts in buyer and user needs and expectations.

Previously, as Executive Director, Marketing and Strategic Initiatives for ProQuest, Mike oversaw North America marketing for academic institutions and managed an extensive global corporate strategy project. Prior to that, Mike served as the Director of Marketing for Thomson Learning/Gale and as an analyst for computers and software and aerospace sectors at the US Department of Commerce.

Mike was on the Postsecondary Education Board of Directors for the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) and has reviewed 30 business information solutions from 8 product categories as a judge for SIIA’s CODIE Awards.
