Michael Kaplun is a transformation and strategy executive with 18 years of advisory and operational experience across Technology, Information Services, B2B Media, and Healthcare. He has a strong track record building and incubating businesses across large enterprises and venture-backed startups – having built 3 businesses from 0 to 1 and led several digital transformations while driving double-digit top-line growth.

At Outsell, Michael leads custom research and advisory services, partnering with information services companies and data economy players on the full spectrum of strategic challenges – from market research and customer insights to strategic planning and digital transformation execution.

Prior to Outsell, Michael held several operational roles, including serving as Chief Product Officer and Managing Director at Gartner, where he co-led a $1B high-tech business unit, and Vice President of Strategy at Elsevier, where he drove transformation for a $300M data-as-a-service business.  Michael also has extensive advisory experience – supporting executives across Technology, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Engineering, B2B Media, SMB, and Consumer & Retail – during his time with Booz & Company and Deloitte.

Michael holds graduate degrees from Columbia University and a BS in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon – an engineering foundation that informs a rigorous, systems-oriented approach to strategy and transformation.
