The Outsell Women’s Conference: Creating Companies and D&I Programs that Work

The Outsell Women’s Conference: Creating Companies and D&I Programs that Work

Last week we released the results of our third annual Outsell’s Third Annual Gender Diversity Study: Flat-Lining and frankly the results still stink. I can’t tell you how many men and women I’ve heard from who are thanking us for taking this topic head on and for publishing the results. I said it before and I’ll say it again: I call myself the accidental advocate. Never in a million years if you’d asked me would I say I’d be here now talking to our industry’s boards, leadership and up and comers about improving the stats. We cannot call ourselves global if we don’t represent those we serve and I can safely say our industry’s leadership does not represent the population of knowledge workers and professionals around the globe, or teachers or students, we serve. So here we are.

As our study and analysis will tell you we believe companies are going to be competing on diversity and gender equity because good talent will simply walk, or not bother to apply, if they don’t see career opportunity. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out and if we want to hire and keep women in our C-Suite ranks we have to do things differently? How differently? Well, you’ll hear from those climbing the career ladder about what they need but you’ll also hear from some amazing companies getting it done. They are companies that work, figuratively and literally as they work to ensure they are better more inclusive companies top to bottom.

We’ve got THREE amazing leaders to hear from:

  1. Dwight Jones, Senior Vice President, Equity, Inclusion & Urban Markets at McGraw-Hill Education

2) Smita Pillai, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Dow Jones

3) Heather Terenzio, Founder & CEO at Techtonic

They are getting it done. Joined by Jay Hussey, CEO at SRI who leads an amazing executive recruiting firm specializing in our industry. Jay will moderate an interactive discussion about what these leaders are doing, what’s working, what’s not. You can plan on improving your programs with the knowledge they’ll share and return home with tangible to-dos you insist your company take on, whether you’re in leadership or aspiring to be a leader. This event is for you and you’ll leave with tangible benefits to take home and apply. Count on it from these amazing and inspiring leaders.
