Its ebbs and flows have been the biggest drivers of activity over the past 18 months, and it’s clear that COVID-19 is not going away any time soon. The start of 2021 brought with it the hope of new vaccines, and we do seem to be moving into a new phase with high vaccination rates in many countries. But are we really turning the corner? What will the impact of the Delta variant be? And what does “learning to live with COVID” look like?
There’s no one better qualified to tell us the “COVID-truth” than Steven Simpson, MD, FCCP, President, American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST). He delivered a masterful presentation at our event in 2020, and we’re grateful that he’s joining us again this year.
Dr. Simpson is a pulmonologist and intensivist with an extensive medical background in the areas of sepsis and critical care quality improvement. In addition to his roles at CHEST, Dr. Simpson is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Kansas. He is also senior advisor to the Solving Sepsis initiative of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services, and he serves as a panelist for the NIH COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines.
Dr. Simpson will be speaking for an hour on November 2 starting at 8:30am PDT / 11:30am EDT / 3:30pm GMT. There will be plenty of opportunity to address your questions.
