Events & Relationships + AI
People connections are not a generational thing — relationships may happen in different forms and shapes, but they matter. Last week at the Outsell Signature Event we heard of the resurgence of events; the more things are digital, the more face-to-face stands out. And we heard that they have outlasted “covid.” In fact, 2023 levels are surpassing those of 2019. They are back with a vengeance.
The letters have come pouring in and sentiment and photos along with them. One leader who didn’t attend checked in to say he heard great feedback. Another sent me a blog post they wrote after celebrating our 10th anniversary Outsell Signature Event. Boy, does it sum up the tradition. Thank you, Mark Logic!
There are posts on LinkedIn. The buzz is great with contacts connecting and deals getting done.
Another leader asked us at the event if they could have a reunion of their “council” that was formed in 2007, when we brought the concept of Outsell’s Leadership Community (OLC) and the Outsell Signature Event to the UK — many of those leaders are still with us buying and selling and running companies, advising private equity, and active on boards.
And it’s all happened through the tech lens that has always led our coverage.
We have seen, tracked, monitored search, mobile, social, SaaS, and now AI and generative AI. Where there is data and content (water) there are pipes and we’ve been tracking software and this convergence since the beginning of time with our roots in IT when we founded Outsell.
I can show you a Venn diagram from 1998 showing IT and IC and their coming together. Now they are simply one. The “p” word — so yesterday. We haven’t covered publishing in a decade, nor really used the word in our lexicon for just as long.
We banned the term “electronic” eons ago as the world gave way to digital. We cover SaaS. We cover vertical tech. We cover the emergence of AI — with one client noting how fast we jumped on the generative AI coverage track — beginning in March running through this year’s Outsell Signature Event. It’s exciting and there is so much going on.
