Introducing Outsell’s New Segment Views

Introducing Outsell’s New Segment Views

It’s exciting to share the first releases of our new Outsell Intelligence suite, a set of market intelligence formats that replace our previous annual Segment View reports, starting with Legal & Regulatory, Financial Information, and soon Construction and Property segments.

The new formats offer greater depth, relevance, and actionability than their predecessors — providing the insights needed to act confidently in a rapidly changing market. We’ve received great client feedback and behind these three are another nearly 20. The first ten are slated for delivery in 2025. They will also be followed by a new digital offering.

Over the past couple of years clients have told us they wanted deeper segmentation, product-category level metrics and analysis, and an ability to look at their competitive landscape alongside adjacencies and disruptors in ways that are more actionable.

Under the leadership of our Chief Analyst and Chief Product Officer, Philipp Mueller, who joined us mid-2023, we’ve rebuilt our database(s), applied our own AI, are installing a data team to augment our analysts, and soon are bringing on practice leads to bring it all to life.

It’s an exciting time here and as we like to say digital offerings are never done. Our journey continues and you’ll continue to see developments as they emerge. For now, alongside these refreshed Segment Views:

  • Granular Product Category analysis covering the categories within each ecosystem, such as Contract Lifecycle Management, Medical Journals, 3rd Party Risk, Location Intelligence, etc.

The new suite thereby offers a comprehensive set of insights both at the “where to play” level of market and category selection, as well as the execution-oriented “how to win” level within product categories. They better inform and empower strategic decision-making for leaders at all levels of seniority across a range of business functions.

At the Ecosystem level, the new formats will cover market sizing, buyer and vendor trends, differentiators, competitive dynamics, M&A patterns, PE holdings, and many other insights.

At the Product Category level, we will offer deep dives into category size, growth, and share, vendor product positioning, competitive dynamics covering the full long tail of all known vendors, and comparative win/loss assessments of key participants (these latter evaluations are on a bespoke basis.)

We are building our coverage gradually and based on client demand, The formats will continue to evolve, with a number of new features and capabilities planned for the next year. We welcome your feedback — don’t hesitate to contact us.
