Out of Step
How silly I felt last week. Last Friday, our world was reflecting on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We published a blog on KPIs. Ugh.
In our world of always-on, sometimes we are not always on. I write the blog most often on Wednesdays; our team gets it set up Thursdays. It goes out Friday. I didn’t see the news until late Thursday evening. Our team didn’t connect the dots when they set up the system. And neither did I. If I had it would have been about 9 pm and I don’t know who I would have called at that hour. In a small company, there are not hundreds of redundancies in multiple time zones. We definitely have to fix that. Either way, we whiffed.
So there will be no blog from me this week other than to apologize for our firm coming across as tone deaf and to extend heartfelt honor to an extraordinary woman, who leaves a remarkable legacy, at a time when we need more extraordinary people of service. And since Monday is a national holiday in the UK, we will honor it, and Her Majesty Elizabeth II, across our company.
