Principal Product Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Head of Product Engineering/Principal Product Engineer to drive the execution and delivery of the Outsell Platform for market & competitive intelligence and community engagement. The technical vision and architecture are in place—this role is about delivering the roadmap, refining the user experience, and ensuring the platform is robust, scalable, and easy to use for clients, internal and external analysts, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a full-stack engineering leader with expertise in TypeScript and Python, with deep experience using Node.js (Express), React, and Celery with Prisma for database management and Gitlab for CI/CD automation. The next phase of our next-gen platform development will focus on automation, data processing, and user interfaces. The person in this role must be comfortable collaborating directly with clients, and business stakeholders, to ensure the platform meets their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Execution & Delivery
• Work with Head of Outsell Intelligence to prioritize and drive the execution of the product roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Implement both front-end and back end enhancements to refine the platform
• Improve internal tooling used by analysts to manage and process structured datasets
• Ensure seamless integration of automation and AI-driven insights into the customer and user experience
Technical Leadership & Hands-on Development
• Continue building and optimizing the core platform on Node.js/Express and React using TypeScript
• Enhance data processing and automation with Celery in Python
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance across the entire system
• Embed AI-powered insights (OpenAI) to deliver intelligent market intelligence
solutions
• Optimize data workflows, API performance, and user interface functionality
• Lead and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployments,
automation, and DevOps best practices
• Advise on technical vision and architecture for future platform decisions.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work directly with heads of product for our two flag-ship offerings and business stakeholders to gather feedback and refine features. Activity engage with customers in and outside the firm
• Translate real-world market and competitive intelligence workflows into easy to execute realities with a customer-first mindset
• Help non-technical stakeholders understand system capabilities and limitations
• Lead and mentor a small engineering team, ensuring best practices in full- stack development
Job-Essential Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related technical field) is required (Master’s degree preferred)
Experience
• 8+ years in software engineering, with full-stack expertise
• Experience leading and executing technical roadmaps in B2B SaaS, analytics, or market intelligence applications
• Background in delivering complex RESTful web applications with a balance of front-end and back-end work
• Ability to work directly with non technical stakeholders (customers, analysts, business leaders, etc.)
• Extensive experience with GitLab and GitLab’s CI/CD for deployment automation and DevOps workflows
Technical Skills
Languages:
• TypeScript (primary language for backend and frontend development)
• Python (used for automation and data processing)
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing structured datasets.
